I’m Dan Corey, an Emmy Award-winning production and editorial leader based in New York City. As a Supervising Producer at NBC News, I help lead production for NBC Nightly News’ weekend editions, manage and mentor producers, oversee human-centered stories from pitch through national broadcast, and contribute to breaking news and special coverage across broadcast and streaming.
My work spans two very different kinds of storytelling: high-stakes live coverage that requires making consequential decisions quickly, and character-driven stories that require slowing down enough to recognize the people and moments that might otherwise be overlooked. What connects them is what I enjoy most about producing: leading teams, solving complicated problems, developing people and finding the most compelling way to tell a story.
Outside of NBC, I serve on the Board of Directors of Queer Big Apple Corps, New York City’s LGBTQ+ marching and symphonic band. I’m a Rutgers graduate with degrees in Journalism & Media Studies and Marketing, where I got my start in journalism by securing and conducting a one-on-one interview with President Barack Obama. I’m also an amateur drummer, trumpet player, and photographer — and I’m attempting to become an amateur DJ.
